Mushroom Swiss Burger

 

Swiss is how we do it!

This delicious Mushroom Swiss Burger puts the works in fireworks. Enjoy this simple and savory classic on the Fourth of July with the whole family!

Serves: 4

 

You’ll Need:

  • Wonder® Classic Hamburger Buns

  • 1½ pound ground beef

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 pound white mushrooms sliced

  • 1 sweet yellow onion sliced

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon pepper

  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Follow these steps:

  1. Heat a skillet on the stove to medium heat and melt 3 tablespoons of butter.

  2. Add sliced white mushrooms to the buttered pan and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Add sliced onion, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to pan. Cook until caramelized.

  4. Remove skillet from the heat and set aside.

  5. Heat a separate grill or pan on the stove to medium heat.

  6. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and toast the Wonder® Classic Hamburger Buns for 2 minutes. Remove the buns and set them aside.

  7. Create 4 evenly-sized ground beef patties and season each one with salt and pepper.

  8. Add patties to the pan and cook for 8 minutes on each side.

  9. Melt a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty when thoroughly cooked.

  10. Remove patties from the pan and build your burgers with the sauteed mushrooms and onions.

  11. Finish dressing your burger how you like and enjoy!
