Serves 9 to 12
6 slices Wonder® bread, crusts removed
4 cups frozen pears, including juice
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup milk
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Cut the bread slices into strips. Place the pears and their juice in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Place the strips of bread over the pears.
In a bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, egg, butter and milk to blend well. Pour the mixture over the strips of bread.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve warm.
"I love pears and I freeze them every year. Searching for a new way to use them, I created this cobbler using Wonder bread as the crust. I've been eating my pears this way ever since."
