BLT Salad

Makes 4 Servings

6 cups torn romaine salad

1/2 small red onion, diced

3/4 cup grape tomatoes cut in half

4 slices Wonder® bread

1/2 cup light mayonnaise

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 garlic clove, minced

1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt

6 to 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Place romaine, onion and tomatoes in a salad bowl.

Place bread in toaster or under broiler and toast until golden brown and crisp.

Cut each bread slice into four pieces. Cut each piece into fourths. (Each bread slice will yield 16 cubes.)

Combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic and seasoned salt. Blend together and toss with salad ingredients. Top with bacon and crisp, toasted Wonder bread cubes.

Tip: During the summer months, when ripe, juicy tomatoes are readily available, substitute 1 or 2 ripe tomatoes, cut into bite-size pieces for grape tomatoes.
